Pastor’s Note 04/09/2026

Easter has come and gone and sometimes there is a let-down after all of the preparations for a celebration. We tend to put a lot of energy and hype leading up to our celebrations and then, once the day is over and we turn the calendar page, we move on to the next celebration. It happens every Thanksgiving and it happens every Christmas. The season of Eastertide helps us not to do that.

We are a week into the Christian season known as “Eastertide,” The 50-day period that the church recognizes between Easter and Pentecost.

Eastertide isn’t a very commonly used word in our world but the 50 days after Easter helps us to remember and continue to celebrate Christ’s resurrection. We need these days. We need to remember the miracle of Christ’s resurrection from the dead and the promises that were kept because of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection.

To help set the stage for the promises that God made we are starting a sermon series this Sunday entitled, “God’s Promises.” We are going to look at the promises or covenants that God made in the Old Testament that led up to the new promise, the New Covenant through Jesus Christ.

So bring your Bible and get ready to circle, highlight, underline, and take notes as we set the foundation for what took place on Easter that gives us hope for the future.

See you on Sunday.
