Pastor’s Note 10/09/2025

“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”

Mark 10:45

We are currently in a sermon series looking at the “signs” of Jesus, His miracles, taking a deep dive looking at various some of the miracles of Jesus and what they say about who is Jesus.

One of the things that Jesus emphasized throughout His ministry was that He came not to be served but to serve. He demonstrated this over and over again. He also told His disciples that they were to follow His example, that they too were to serve. That’s you and me!

So, my question to you is how are you serving others in the name of Jesus? What specific thing do you do on a regular basis in serving others?

It can be something that is church related, but it doesn’t have to be. We can serve our neighbors when there is a need that they have, taking them a meal when they are sick or giving a ride to a doctor appointment. It does mean that we have to know our neighbors, have some type of relationship with them in order to know their need.

Another question that Jesus answered was “who is our neighbor?” In His story about the “Good Samaritan” He said that our neighbor is the next hurting person that we meet!

This week, think of a way that you can serve someone else in the name of Jesus. Do one thing out of your normal routine to serve them and let’s see how Jesus is honored.

I would love to hear your story, so let me know what happened.

Have a great rest of your week and I hope to see you on Sunday.
