“I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.”
Psalm 121:1 & 2
Psalm 121 reminds us that we have a God who is looking out for us. He watches over us in all of life’s ups and downs and He will be with us now and in the future.
I don’t know if you are like me, but I need to be reminded of this over and over and over and over again (that is way too many overs). I may come to a difficult situation in my life, and I will think that God doesn’t care and that He has forgotten about me and my situation. That is where God’s Word and God’s people come into play.
I need to read the Scriptures, and I need God’s people to remind me of God’s trustworthiness during my difficult times.
That is why it is so important to be in relationships with Godly people. They will be the ones to remind us of God’s faithfulness, and they will be the ones who will be praying with us.
So, as the Labor Day holiday gives us a day to pause and we begin to think about the Fall, consider how you might connect with others in September. Whether it is going to the Adult Sunday School class, attending the Women or Men’s Bible Study, or getting together with a friend to talk about the Scriptures and pray for each other, it is important to be connected.
Have a great holiday weekend and I hope to see many of you on Sunday!
