Pastor’s Note 03/26/2026

Over the next week, LCPC will be remembering Christ’s last week, and it is the perfect time to invite someone to come with you to church.

  • This Sunday is Palm Sunday and Christ’s Triumphant Entry. Willie the Donkey is going to be leading our processional into church as we remember the people of Jerusalem proclaiming Jesus as King.

  • Following our Worship Service, we are having an Easter Egg Hunt at 11:30am for kids from 1 year to 10 years. Bring your own Easter basket to collect eggs but it should be a fun time on our playground hunting for eggs. Everyone is invited to stay for a free lunch at Eat & Greet at 12:15pm.

  • Starting on Monday and continuing each day at noon, we will walk with Jesus to the cross at our daily communion services. It is a short 15-minute service that helps prepare our hearts for what Jesus did on the cross for us.

  • Thursday evening at 6pm, we will have a Maundy Thursday service, remembering Christ’s Last Supper with His disciples and His instructions to them and to us, on how we are to remember Him.

  • Friday evening at 6pm is our Good Friday Services and the Rite of Nails. During this service we “nail our sins to the cross” in a moving time as we hear the nails being pounded into the cross, remembering the pain that Christ endured being nailed to the cross for us.

  • Then the following Sunday we celebrate Christ’s Resurrection at our 9:30am worship service. It is a celebration of Christ’s triumph over death that the Church around the world celebrates.

It’s the perfect week to invite someone. You have a great opportunity to invite friends and family to our Palm Sunday Worship service, Holy Week Communion services, Maundy Thursday Service, Good Friday service and Easter Sunday Worship Celebration. The best way for us to grow as a church is person-to-person, relationship-by-relationship. A person is going to come because you invite them as you share your excitement about your love for Jesus and His church.

Pray about who you may invite and then invite them and let’s see what God will do.

Have a great week and I will see you on Sunday.

Pastor’s Note 03/19/2026

Around the world, millions of people lack access to sustainable food sources, clean water, sanitation, and education. The work done in support of the causes supported by One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS) — disaster, hunger, poverty, climate change, and immigration/migration and refugees —serves individuals and communities in need. This work provides people with safety, sustenance, and hope.

Some of the ministries that will be supported with this offering are:

  • Ukrainian refuges in Moldova through the YMCA
  • Flood relief in Gahana through the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Gahana.
  • Grants for those who suffered in the Southern California Wildfires.
  • Solor panels for hospitals in Puerto Rico.

Through the multiple gifts of church across the United States, lives are changed and hope is given in the name of Jesus.

Let me encourage you (if you are able) to give to this important ministry of the Presbyterian Church.

Pastor’s Note 03/12/2026

“The earth brought forth vegetation… trees of every kind bearing fruit with the seed in it. And God saw that it was good.”

Genesis 1:12

Have you walked around our newly landscaped church campus?

If you take a walk around all of the paths, from the front of the church, around to the memorial garden, through the breezeway, then around the granite path of our front lawn and back, you will have taken an easy 1/8-mile walk. On your walk, you can check out the various plants and trees that are flourishing after all of the recent rains.

There is still more work to be done on our church grounds. We need to purchase some picnic tables, umbrellas, and outdoor string-lights for the patio area so that we can enjoy the new setting in the years to come.

As I think back over the past few years I am reminded of God’s goodness. He has provided for us in so many ways, and the new landscaping is evidence of that. Thanks to all who have helped to make this happen and I am looking forward to what God has in store for us in the years ahead.

Have a great rest of the week.
