Last weekend I asked all of us to take up “The Gospel Challenge” for the year of 2022, which was to read the four Gospels, 3 times this next year.
That meant in January to read the Gospel of Matthew, in February to read the Gospel of Mark, in March to read the Gospel of Luke and in April the Gospel of John. Then repeat the same order for the rest of the year.
So how are you doing on reading the Gospel of Matthew? Don’t worry if you are behind. It only takes a few minutes to catch up but I know that as you read and cycle through the four Gospels three times this next year that your life will be changed. When you are immersed in the life of Jesus we can better see what Jesus actually taught and did and we will be better able to follow King Jesus.
Let me know what you are observing and seeing about Jesus (maybe for the first time). It will be a great way for our lives to be formed more and more into the image of Christ.
Know that I am praying for you and I hope to see you on Sunday!

A note from the Pastor – 12/30/2021
Throughout the Advent and Christmas season we sing, talk, and pray about the celebration of our new-born King, Jesus. It is a reminder that we truly do worship a King and that His kingdom is here “on earth just as it is in heaven.”
But what does it mean to follow King Jesus? What does it mean to be an ambassador for the King and to live in a “colony of heaven: here on earth? What does it mean for us as individuals and as a faith community? These are some of the questions that we will be asking as we begin a sermon series entitled:
“Following King Jesus”
So I hope that you will be able to join us this Sunday at 9:45am and begin the year 2022 exploring what it means to be a follower of King Jesus.

A note from the Pastor 12/16
I hope that you and your family aren’t too hectic with Christmas just a week away. I know at the Avazian house preparations are almost wrapped up but there is always something that we forgot or that needs some last-minute attention and then the mad scramble to get it done!
Christmas Eve Invite
One of the things is that I want to invite you, your family and your friends to join us for our “Christmas Eve in Lakeside” celebration! This year we will be having our celebration at 4:00 PM on December 24 at LCPC.
This will be a great time to gather and hear the Christmas story, sing Christmas carols and this year, we will have a special “guest” joining us, as Willie the Donkey will help to explain the meaning of Christmas to us! If you are looking for a place to celebrate Christ’s birth with your family and friends, we would love to have you!
One thing to know is that most people will come to a Christmas Eve celebration if they are invited by a trusted friend. Think about a friend or neighbor who you can invite. Grab a few of the “Candy Cane” invitations on Sunday to pass along to those that you know.
Have a great rest of the week and I will see you on Sunday.
