If you don’t remember, back in January we started the year with the challenge of reading each of the four Gospels three times throughout the year and this coming Sunday is the start of a new month, which means that we are back to the Gospel of Matthew in our year of The Gospel Challenge.
If you haven’t joined in The Challenge then let me encourage you to start reading on May 1 the first chapter of Matthew and then read one chapter per day throughout the month and in June, you can start in on the Gospel of Mark. The goal of reading the Gospels is to see Jesus and to observe how He interacted with those around Him.
One helpful resource that can go along with your reading is to watch The Chosen. The Chosen is a show about the life of Jesus. It is the first multi-season production of Jesus’ life and it gives some good insights on seeing Jesus through the eyes of those He met. I love watching as I recall what I have read in the Gospels and then see it come alive on the screen. You can watch The Chosen by downloading the app to your mobile device or it can be streamed on your smart tv. It’s free and there is no obligation to pay for the program. I am watching Season 2 and it has been fascinating to see Jesus, so let me encourage you to watch The Chosen.
Finally, our new sermon series is studying the Gospel of Mark so this will be a good compliment to the Gospel Challenge. Hope that you can join us in person or online as we learn together, how to follow Jesus.
See you on Sunday.
