Did you know going to church is training you for a battle? Church is not meant for the sole purpose of entertaining the congregation.

To excel in music one has to put forth effort and practice, in sports the rigorous training allows the athlete to compete while under pressure. Shouldn’t church do the same?  Sitting on the sidelines is not going to prepare you for when you are faced with spiritual battles.

In matters of the Bible, God used average citizens but He made sure they were prepared.  Moses early life under Pharaoh was excellent training for a leader, David fought lions and bears that threatened his sheep; his training allowed him to fight a giant warrior and win.

Without putting forth effort and commitment, how will you be prepared when the spiritual battle attacks? Consider attending the men or women’s Bible study group, attend Sunday school, or volunteer so that you are growing in spiritual fitness.

Ephesians 6:11 “Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.”

It seems like only last week I was putting away the Christmas decorations and here it is May….Mothers Day.  So in honor and or remembrance of moms everywhere, thank you for your words of endless wisdom we have all grown to love.
  • Always change your underwear; you never know when you’ll be in an accident.
  • Don’t put that in your mouth; you don’t know where it’s been!
  • Be careful or you’ll put your eye out.
  • What if everyone jumped off a cliff? Would you do it, too?
  • You have enough dirt behind those ears to grow potatoes!
  • Close that door! Were you born in a barn?
  • And the best one of all….If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.

Thanks Mom.
