Pastor’s Note 11/13/2025

“Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.”

1 Peter 2:2, 3

In 2026, I wanted to encourage all of us to read the entire Bible together.  On January 1, 2026 we are going to start reading in Genesis 1 and work our way through the Bible until December 31 and Revelation 22.

We are going to follow the one-year guide provided by The Bible Recap, a ministry that encourages Christ-followers to read the entire Bible. You will be able to read the Bible daily following the plan or you can listen to the Bible on your phone or computer by connecting to the Bible Recap website (www.thebiblerecap.com). The weekly Bible readings will be printed in the bulletin, and we will also offer some small groups (in person and on-line) to help encourage one another to read the entire Bible in 2026. Sign-ups for groups will take place beginning in December.

The thing I like about the Bible Recap is that after each reading there is a summary of the Bible passages there were read by the host, Tara-Leigh Cobble. She does a good job of giving a summary, so when you slog through a chapter in the Bible that doesn’t make sense, Tara-Leigh’s summaries help to pull things together. I think that you will really like it.

I don’t know if you have ever read through the entire Bible, but I hope that 2026 is going to be the year to do that!

Pastor’s Note 10/30/2025

I know that an email went out warning you about a scam that was using my name. It was asking for a call or for you to purchase gift cards. Let me once again say that someone is trying to scam us.

I will never email or text you to request money or gift cards for an emergency need.  Please alert me if you receive a request of that nature from someone claiming to be me!

Many of you did just that, calling me or calling the church office. That is the best thing to do and if there is a legitimate need, I will let you know.

Sorry that this has happened and I pray that it doesn’t cause further problems.
