Joyful Noise

We have a new Director of Music, Ron Hilley.  Ron leads the Joyful Noise Choir  each Sunday morning and often is the arranger for the anthem our choir sings.  Throughout the year, Joyful Noise produces several concerts, both sacred and secular.  During Advent, the choir brings the Christmas story to life through song.  At the end of the choral season or sometimes in the fall, full-scale productions are performed for the congregation and the community. In the past, themes range from gospel and rock to Broadway and Disney.  Joyful Noise is an energetic group who sing to the Glory of God!

Our choir is open to all who love singing.  We meet every Thursday evening from September through June.  Come and check out this unique ministry and fellowship with fellow believers who enjoy praising God through music.

Beginning Sept 20, 2013 we will offer the complete anthem in accordance with our  Church Streaming/Pod Cast License CSPL044509.  All copyright is in accordance with our CCLI 436374.

 Organ

In October, 1984, Lakeside Community Presbyterian Church installed 13-rank pipe organ built by the San Diego Pipe Organ Company. In the 1990’s, under the direction of Blackinton and Associates, the church began the expansion and enlargement of the organ to include a total of 18 ranks of pipes. (A “rank” is a set of pipes, usually numbering 56 pipes,      one for each note of the keyboard.)

On Sunday, April 18, 2010, the church dedicated a wonderful new instrument — a Rodgers Masterpiece Signature 356 Digital Imaging Organ with a three manual console with 56 stops, including a MX200 MIDI Sound Module (producing 100 orchestral sounds) which was combined with our existing 18 ranks of wind-blown pipes, giving the equivalent of over 200 ranks. The electronic portion is voiced through 22 speakers embedded in the pipe chamber, as well as speakers in the choir loft and balcony.

The organ has been a wonderful addition to enhance our worship through solo pieces and accompanying our choir and congregational singing, as well as special concerts and presentations. Every week we are amazed by an ever-changing array of sounds! The addition of the Rodgers organ and speakers was made possible through a number of special gifts, including a major gift in honor of Pastor Bob’s 25th anniversary at the church, and his belief that “music magnifies the message”!   Soli Deo Gloria – to God alone be the glory!

Lakeside Instrumental Ensemble

We encourage anyone who can play an instrument to join LCPC’s  multi-generational Instrumental Ensemble.  The Ensemble plays a number of times a year during Sunday Worship, notably Christmas, Easter and Pentecost.  The group is directed by Pastor Bob Mentze, and John Neumeister is the arranger for the group.
