LCPC Organ
About Our Organ In October, 1984, Lakeside Community Presbyterian Church installed a 13-rank pipe organ built by the San Diego Pipe Organ Company. In the 1990's under the direction of Blackinton and Associates, the church began the expansion and enlargement of the organ to include 18 ranks of wind-blown pipes. (A “rank” is a set of pipes, usually numbering 56 pipes, one for each note of the keyboard.)On Sunday, April 18, 2010, the church dedicated a wonderful new instrument: a Rodgers Masterpiece Signature 356 Digital Imaging Organ with a three manual console with 56 stops, including a MX200 MIDI Sound Module (producing 100 orchestral sounds) was combined with our existing 18 ranks of wind-blown pipes giving the equivalent of over 200 ranks. The electronic portion is voiced through 22 speakers embedded in the pipe chamber, as well as speakers in the choir loft and balcony. The organ has been a wonderful addition to enhance our worship through solo pieces and accompanying our choir and congregational singing, as well as special concerts and presentations. Every week we are amazed by an ever-changing array of sounds! The addition of the Rodgers organ and speakers was made possible through a number of special gifts, including a major gift in honor of Pastor Bob’s 25th anniversary at the church, and his belief that “music magnifies the message”! Soli Deo Gloria – to God alone be the glory! |
