Why I Like LCPC
We are so thankful to God for bringing us to LCPC. What we had been looking for was right
here on our doorstep, a church which cares about her congregation and reaches out to the
community, an amazing choir that touches my heart each week, programs for all ages of children
weekly, monthly and of course our yearly, and very successful Vacation Bible School. ***************************************************************************
LCPC is more than a church of worship, it is a place that encourages spiritual growth, filled
with friends who have become our extended family. We pray for each other, we share in the
excitement of good news with one another and we’re there for each other during difficult times.
With so many different ministries and outreach opportunities there is always something at LCPC
for everyone. ***************************************************************************
I’m so grateful to be a member of such a caring community of believers. As a single person who
has always had good health, I never thought about what would happen if I ever got seriously ill.
However, when this happened to me, I don’t know what I would have done without the support and
help from my church. Not only did they offer prayers, visits, and support, but they also helped
make sure that I had a safe place to go to and the support needed when I got out of the hospital.
I know the old expression “you can choose your friends, but not your family” is not true. My
biological family is not in this area, but my chosen church family is here and as much my family
as any blood relative. ***************************************************************************
I am blessed to be part of the LCPC family. I am blessed by the fact that we are an
intergenerational church where families can worship together in a place where biblical
understanding is shared between young and old. I am blessed by the care and love that is
offered through prayer and service to any member that is hurting or in need. I am blessed by
the heart of this church that reaches out to the community through ministries and missions to
express the love of Christ. I am blessed most of all by the commitment of this church to hearing
God’s Word and making it central to our worship and to the life of the church. ***************************************************************************
I concluded after many months of attending LCPC, that this was one of God’s true churches. Upon
my first visit, Pastor Don was so warm and welcoming. Just meeting him alone made me want to come
back again. However, I found many others in the congregation very inviting, friendly, outgoing,
and non-judgmental as well. After attending several months I noticed that there was, and still is,
a genuine concern about my well-being and life on-goings. Powerful prayer among the congregation
is a constant. Regular communication with and by individuals whether it be a pastor, elder,
deacon, or my pew neighbor lets me know that I would never just “drop off the face of the earth”
at this church. Your face is welcomed and remembered here (although all of us have our senior
moments, right?). More importantly, teaching and encouraging us to live godly lives like our
Savior Jesus, is one more reason I know this is great church. This IS a Christ-centered church
with true Christian beliefs upheld and espoused. Pastor Bob’s teachings are true to the Word and
always supported by the Bible. Highly encouraged to bring your own Bible on Sundays, Pastor Bob
asks the congregation to refer to various scriptures during his sermons. You won’t find
watered-down, “of this world, I’m-okay-you’re-okay” principles. LCPC is grounded in Christian
values that are highly unlike the values of our current society, culture, and media. If you want
encouragement and love from our Father, you will find it here at LCPC. ***************************************************************************
I find LCPC to be a good Bible teaching church. I have greatly expanded my knowledge in the last
few years. ***************************************************************************
I have been attending LCPC since 1987 when my daughter was 2 years old. My children grew up in
the church, attending youth group and Sunday school. I consider the women at church my sisters
and have benefitted so much from having fellowship with them. My family out of state knows that
I am very fortunate to have such wonderful friends. The programs the church offers are great and
the sermons can all help a person grow in their faith and love for Jesus. I often tell my
co-workers what is happening and how much attending LCPC means to me. ***************************************************************************
I was first attracted to this church because of the well-organized, Bible-based, meaningful
sermons. I have also found many friends who are faithful Christians and exhibit their faith
in their everyday lives. ***************************************************************************
LCPC is an important part of my life because I receive spiritual food for thought to help me
through the coming week. The sermon, choir and fellowship are uplifting to me. Please consider
joining our church family at 9:30AM on Sunday mornings. You will be glad
that you did! ***************************************************************************
It is the “package” for me. Highlighted by an exceptional Pastor who is very knowledgeable and
open to discussion. We have a very diverse congregation that is welcoming to strangers, an
excellent education program, great youth programs and wonderful music. LCPC is also very active
in our community and supports a diversity of missionary outreaches. We believe in and honor
the teachings of the Bible. ***************************************************************************
My husband and I have been members of LCPC since 1966, a year after we were married. We have
been a Navy family for 28 years and have moved around from west coast to east coast and back
several times. We have found that this home church has always welcomed us back. We have found
that LCPC is a Bible_centered church, preaching the Word of God. The congregation here is
friendly and encouraging through sickness and in health. There are Sunday school classes for
all ages, Bible study groups, and Christian activities for all ages also. LCPC has a loving,
caring preschool program. Our 3 boys attended it and got their start in loving their church
family. They were active members of the youth groups and participated in the worship services
by singing in the youth choir, being acolytes, and being sound operators. Our church has a “Time
and Talent” sheet that lists all the opportunities available for service to the church. My
husband and I started the Prayer Quilt Ministry here in December of 2005 after we both battled
different cancers. This ministry provides prayer quilts to individuals who are in some type of
crisis as we both were. We received prayer quilts from another church and that spurred us on to
want to start a similar ministry at LCPC. The Prayer Quilt Ministry promotes prayer through the
use of quilts. There are many ways to serve our Lord. We have found that the more one becomes
involved in church life, the more meaningful our Christian walk is and the more blessings we
receive from God. “God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7) We must give of ourselves!
This is a friendly church, always ready to welcome new believers. *************************************************************************** |
