* Our Pastor is a native of San Diego, the son of two public school
music teachers.
* Graduated from Crawford High School and San Diego State University
(highest honors) with a degree in psychology.
* Grew up attending the First Presbyterian Church of San Diego, where,
during college years, he worked with the junior high youth (serving one
summer as interim youth director), directed the church orchestra, served
as "moderator" of the college group for 2½ years, and on
several church committees.
* Awarded the Phi Kappa Phi Fellowship for graduate study, he attended
San Francisco Theological Seminary in San Anselmo, California, where he
received his Master of Divinity degree.
* During seminary, served as Youth Director at the Marin Covenant
Church in San Rafael.
* Ordained in 1977 and served the Westminster Presbyterian Church of
Escondido, CA as Associate Pastor for Youth and Christian Education.
* In 1984 began pastorate at the Lakeside Community Presbyterian
Church.
* Co-founder of the Lakeside Ministerial Association and Lakeside
Christian HELPS Center.
* Adjunct Professor of Reformed Worship at Bethel Theological Seminary,
San Diego
* In 1997, awarded the degree of Doctor of Ministry from Westminster
Theological Seminary. Dissertation entitled: "Music Magnifies the Message:"
* An avid musician, plays the organ, piano, guitar, french horn and
trumpet.
* Hobbies include mountain biking and hiking, snorkeling and boogie
boarding, photography and gardening.
